They were sitting
They were sitting
In the strawberry swing
Every moment was so precious
They were sitting
They were talking
In the strawberry swing
Everybody was for fighting
Wouldn't wanna waste a thing
---------
A ten year old Gilbert was sitting besides a nine year old [Name] on their so called "strawberry swing" enjoying the view on top of a hill. The beautiful sunset colors was a must a see. So vibrant. Every moment was so precious to both Gilbert and [Name]. [Name]'s happiness quickly faded when she saw Gilbert's big grin. She had to tell him now or never.
"Gilbert I need to tell you something." [Name] said very sadly. Still looking at the sunset, Gilbert answered, "Ja? What is it [Name]?" The tears were coming sooner then she expected. "I h-have to m-move away. I d-don't want to m-move away Gilbert!" She got off the swing and went to hug Gilbert. Gilbert's smile and bright eyes faded to shock and sadness.
He closed his eyes and hugged her. Trying his best to hold back the tears that were coming to his eyes he replied, "I don't want you to move either. You're my best friend and …. I like you." He whispered the last part so she wouldn't hear. [Name]was sobbing loudly, she couldn't hear what he had said. She whipped her tears away and looked up at Gilbert. She inhaled and said "Let's make a promise! When I come back we meet back here in this same stop when we're both grown up okay?" He swallowed his tears and nodded.
------------------
He could still remember that memory. Holding [Name] in his arms and not wanting to cry for her sake. She was such a pretty girl back then. Her [h/c], [e/c], and her [s/c] shining every time the sun hit her. Sometimes he felt like she wasn't real at all and that it was just another memory.
"Gilbert did you hear us?" Francis said. "What? Uhh... No I didn't. What was it again?" Gilbert was puzzled. "You're still thinking about her huh? She must be beautiful and worth all your time for you to think about her all these years." Antonio commented. "You have no idea. She meant everything to me when we were kids. Did I ever tell you guys she was my first best friend and the only one I liked through out our childhood?" Gilbert said with a smirk.
"Actually no you didn't. How come you didn't tell us before?" Francis said with a pout. "I thought it didn't matter. Well at least to me. She's gone and I cant see her anymore. But we did make a promise. That if she came back we would both see each other at the strawberry swing hill." Gilbert chuckled at the memory. "Awww que lindo[1]~." Antonio piped up. "Alright shut up. Let's just forget about it and move on. I'm gonna get some food. The awesome me is gonna have some beer and wurst." Gilbert got up and left walking to who knows where.
Shoving his hands into his pockets he walked and walked until he ended up at the end of strawberry swing. "Heh. Out of all the places, I came here. Typical." Staring up at the hill he sighed. "Might as well." Walking up the hill he stopped midway, noticing the sun was setting and the beautiful colors it was giving through out the sky. He just smiled and carried on. Having come closer to the swing he didn't notice someone was already here.
Sitting down on the swing, he moved his legs to swing himself a little higher. His eyes landed to a young lady behind the tree. He stopped swinging himself and headed over to where she was sitting. "Do you like this spot?" Glibert finally piped up. The girl being very much surprised jumped in shock. "Oh! You scared! Hahah." She rubbed the back of her head. "Kesesese. . . I didn't mean to scare you." The girls eyes widen in shock. Shaking her head, she stuck out her hand. "Nice to meet you stranger my name's [Name]." She smiled at Gilbert. Gilbert's smile grew wider.
"Well, I don't think I'm a stranger to you." Gilbert shook [Name] hand. "Oh? But we barely met. How do you know that I might or might not know you at all?" [Name] said smiling. Gilbert laughed his trade mark laugh loudly. "Hehe. . . You were always asking questions when we were younger [Name]. . ." Gilbert smiled warmly this time. "After all this time you kept the promise. It's not like you Gilbo." [Name] chuckled. "Hey! It's Gilbert! Gil-bert! An awesome name for someone as awesome as me~!" His ego took over again. "And I see your ego hasn't left you for one second hahaha." [Name] laughed harder this time.
"How are you Gilbert? I mean. . Life, friends, work. Anything interesting." [Name]'s curiosity got to her. "But of course! Life is treating me good!" He lied right there. He didn't want to tell [Name] just yet that he still held feelings for her and how he felt sad everyday that she wasn't there with him. "I have two best friends. One's a French who flirts a lot with the ladies and the other is a Spaniard who loves tomatoes. As for work. . .Hmm. . I work with my brother Ludwig at a brewery company. Because the awesome me just loves beer. How about you [Name]?" Gilbert grinned.
"I've been okay. I've had three boyfriends my entire life. Was not pretty by the way." Gilbert's face twitched, he wanted to date [Name] and only her. It kind of made his blood boil that other men dated her. "I pretty much came back here because of a job offer. I got really excited because I was coming back here." [Name] looked up at Gilbert and smiled. "I miss you Gilbert. I've missed you for so long." [Name] felt her tears coming so she just grinned. Gilbert blushed and cracked a grin as well. "I've missed you more. I've been reminiscing about our childhood for so long. Every time we went up in this hill and swung each other from this old swing. But it was so perfect. . . I couldn't ask for anything else." Gilbert chuckled and as did you.
I remember
We were walking up to strawberry swing
I can't wait until the morning
Wouldn't wanna change a thing
"Actually. . . [Name] I've been wanting to tell you something for so long that. . . I couldn't tell you when we were younger." Gilbert was slightly sweating from nervousness. "I. . . [Name]. . . I like you. . . No. . I love you! I've loved you for a very long time that it hurt me to see you go when we were younger. Without you here. . . It's just. . . not the same. I -" [Name] cut Gilbert off with a kiss. Gilbert's eyes widen. She pulled away smiling childishly. "I love you too Gilbert." Gilbert wanted to cry from happiness. So instead he kissed [Name] passionately.
Now the sky could be blue
I don't mind
Without you it's a waste of time
Could be blue
I don't mind
Without you it's a waste of time
Could be blue,
Could be grey
Without you I'm just miles away
Could be blue
I don't mind
Without you it's a waste of time
This story be awesomer.
Gilbert is unbeatable though, sorry.
